1929
Feltex expanded into New Zealand.
1931
Feltex opened production in South Africa making slippers.
1938
The first woven carpet manufactured in Australia was a Woven Axminster in Sydney.
1941
Feltex was making military boots and other miscellaneous items including special hard felt shell casing for ammunition in World War II.
1945
Feltex had installed 10 woven looms in Lower Hutt in New Zealand.
1966
Feltex products were being sold to 49 countries across the world.
2000
Feltex was aquired by Shaw Industries.
2003
1900 people were employed for Feltex, 1000 being from New Zealand & 900 in Australia.
2006
Feltex Carpets was acquired by Godfrey Hirst Pty Ltd, retaining it’s strong unique brand and identity.
2013
Feltex Carpets and Godfrey Hirst commercial divisions merged.
2018
Feltex becomes a part of Mohawk Industries family, one of the worlds largest flooring companies.
2019
The GH Commercial brand was born, commercially representing Godfrey Hirst, Feltex, Mohawk Group, iVC Commerical.
2021
Feltex and Godfrey Hirst become the first Australian carpet manufactures to be Climate Active accredited organisational status.
