>Kaiti School, Gisborne, New Zealand

We are a school with a proud history. The school was first established is 1907 and celebrated its centenary in 2007. While strong in history, the school is also positioned to be future focused and able to provide students with a 21st Century education. The school has spent the past two years reviewing just what we are about and what our core beliefs as a learning community are. The curriculum has been designed around developing 21st Century learners who are confident and active thinkers, literate and numerate, able to make good decisions and know their whakapapa.
We offer three learning pathways. Mainstream, Māori Bi-lingual and Tongan Bi-lingual. We provide quality teaching and learning programmes that are personalised to the learner. We have a growing roll of 310 however we try hard to keep our class sizes small.
I can guarantee you that children will always come first at our school. Learning will be fun and they will enjoy coming to school. We do not charge school fees and all students receive free stationery. Parents and Whanau are welcome to come into our school at anytime during school hours. In fact, what you think matters at Kāiti. We call on parents often for feedback, to share their ideas around learning and to participate in school events. If your child is turning five, we run a transition to school programme in our New Entrant room - The Tiny Tiki Club.
